PARTNER WITH COMUNITE’Z
We believe that there are countless amazing people, businesses, clubs and organisations that have so much to offer those who need our support, and we know we can’t do this alone. Together, however, we have a greater chance to make a positive change in all of our communities.
Do you know where our name Comunite’z originated from?
Comunite’z originated from the original Facebook Group started on the 1st of February 2018 called Zak’s Community.
This was created to keep the memory of Zak alive and for our founder Nathan to share his story as a suicide survivor and to bring hope to others that “life gets better”. It was also created to be a platform to bring people together and form a community where everyone can contribute and engage with one another, sharing their stories, offering support and tools for others so we all can work towards be a better version of ourselves and live our best life. With this in mind we know that the real power in creating change is the people, because it takes a community to make a difference, and this is why Community will always be one of our core values.
Zak’s Community was able to become Comunite’z “Unite For Life” because of the friendship, respect and trust between Nathan, Kattisha, Mark and Joakim who started by having conversations about something close to all their hearts, suicide prevention. This small community of four has quickly grown into many, including family and friends, partners and businesses and of course the Zaks’ Community group.
With Zak forever in our hearts, we focus on high school-aged kids and their families by providing them with the tools, education, self-belief and resources they need to thrive
why do we need you?
Suicide is a pandemic, it’s a devastating outcome for people who suffering emotionally and believe they have no other option. Suicide is the number one killer of young people aged 15 to 44 with children as young as four having taken their lives.
Here on the Sunshine Coast the suicide rates are 9% above the national average with the greatest issues being the stigma associated with suicide and people not knowing how to respond if someone disclosed, they were struggling with mental health issues.
We believe that there are countless amazing people, businesses, clubs and organisations that have so much to offer those who need our support, and we know we can’t do this alone. Together however, we have a greater chance to make a positive change in all of our communities.
